Timber Canyon sits northeast of downtown Castle Rock, off Founders Parkway near North Crowfoot Valley Road, and it feels different from the newer grid neighborhoods nearby. Homes went up over roughly a decade beginning in the early 2000s, and they were built to fit the land: two-story, multi-level and raised ranch designs of about 3,000 to 5,000 square feet above grade, most with three- or four-car garages and walkout basements.

Lots generally run from a third of an acre to about a half acre, many of them wooded and several backing to open space. Students are served by Sage Canyon Elementary, Mesa Middle School and Douglas County High School in Douglas County School District RE-1.

Gemstone Park on Sapphire Pointe Boulevard is close by for ball fields and playgrounds, Interstate 25 is a quick drive, and Castlewood Canyon State Park is an easy trip east. If a quieter, tree-covered street is what you are after, let us know.
